Health Services is not able file insurance claims for private insurance. We can provide documentation of services rendered for you to file with your insurance for reimbursement. Health Services will file the claims for students that have insurance through Academic HealthPlans. Payment for clinic expenses are billed through the Business Office on the student’s account.
Austin College does not have an in-house lab; however, we do have contracted discount rates with CPL Laboratories. You can file on your private insurance, but you will not receive the Austin College discounted rate. The cost billed your insurance will be considerably higher. You need to be sure your insurance will cover the tests before using it. Sometimes it is cheaper to just pay the cash price. Any questions about billing or insurance should be discussed with the nurse prior to leaving the clinic.
